rehydrated dried paint

1. Place your dried out acrylic paint on a flat surface

Make sure you are on a stable flat surface to ensure no spill or mistakes.

2.  Add a few droplets of water to your dried out acrylic paint container

If your acrylic paint is completely dried out just add 2 droplets of WARM water to your dried paint. DO NOT add too much water as this will decrease the quality of the acrylic paint.

3. Close your container and wait a day

Make sure to close and seal your container with the warm droplets of water you added. Wait a day for the dried paint to absorb the water. If the paint is still dried the next day, add a bit more water and wait again. Keep going until you can see the paint start to loosen up.

4. Stir gently

Once the dried paint starts to absorb the water after you waited at least a day, start to mix your paint gently. You can add a little bit of warm water while you mix to achieve the right consistency.

How to Prevent Acrylic Paint from Drying in the future?

Close the jars and containers shut

Make sure to close all your paint containers when you are not using them! You should only have 1 or 2 paint containers open at any time.

Monitor your environment

Try not to paint in the direct sunlight or the outdoors as this will exacerbate your paint drying out, as well as painting in very dry or arid environments.

Store the Paints Properly

After you finished painting and closed the jars/containers shut, store your paint in a dark and not dry location.
